PLC Programming: Process Control Level, Control Level and Field Level

The process control level is essentially used for operation and monitoring, recipe management and execution, measured value archiving, production data acquisition, etc. The control level is used to control and regulate your system. This is implemented by a PLC (programmable logic controller).

The field level is the basis for the control level and the contained PLC program. Process signals (input and output signals) are processed digitally or analog.

The communication between the process control level, the control level and the field level can be implemented in different ways (field bus systems): Profibus, Profinet, WLAN, AS-Interface, EIB. Depending on the area of ​​application, this is individually planned, adapted and optimized for your industrial plant.
